It’s because we’re in the “Millennial Crisis.”
That’s really what they’re calling it–I promise I didn’t just make that up!
Whenever you were growing up, you were taught a very specific order of events.
Graduate High School
Go to college
Get a good paying job using your degree
Live the American dream
But is that really what we’re still rooting for?
The “Millennial Crisis” Everyone Keeps Talking About
Let’s be honest… they call it a crisis but WE call it living the damn life!
Slower living…
Being home…
Homeschooling our kids…
Gardening (even if we don’t have the best green thumb!)...
Flexibility…
Simply rejecting the hustle culture as a whole.
These are the reasons why mamas are opting in for the stay-at-home lifestyle. Our family and the little amount of time we have with our kids outweigh the exhaustion of a paycheck.
Pouring into the 4 walls of our home is more important than running rampant on the weekends trying to play catch-up–only to wake up Monday morning and do it all over again.
But just because I’m a stay-at-home mom doesn’t mean I don’t want to earn money with my name on it!
We don’t want less ambition… we just have different priorities, thank you!
And thank God we live in a day and age where you can make money online as a stay-at-home mom without giving up this lifestyle you always prayed for. 🙌🏼
Why So Many Stay-at-Home Moms Want More… (Income, That is 😅)
Do we reeeaaallllyy want to get into the discussion of rising costs?
Let’s just not and say we did because I’m not about political rants over here!
But what about the things that nobody really talks about?
Watching your husband work tirelessly to pay the bills and keep a comfortable life?
Or simply needing an outlet outside of “mama”?
Or something that’s all yours… something with your name on it?
Those things are real, too.
If you’re anything like me–I love being home. But I also love knowing that I’m contributing financially.
That’s an entire identity shift I went through whenever I first quit my corporate job and became a SAHM. Even though I was never the primary breadwinner, I still felt like I had a hand in our finances. (And let’s be honest… I couldn’t tell my husband “I make money too!” whenever I wanted something ridiculously expensive that I didn’t need, even though he would never tell me no! 🙃)
So I started down the rabbit hole of ways that I could make money online as a stay-at-home mom. And when I say rabbit hole… if you’ve been there–you know!
I started my first online business as a Freelance Copywriter. I started writing for keynote speakers, life coaches, career coaches, and religious influencers.
Eventually, I started digging more into Digital Marketing and learning how to earn commissions through affiliate marketing, how to create and sell my own digital products, and everything else under the sun.
But I’d be lying if I said those early days were easy…
Because The Problem? Most Online Income Advice Feels Overwhelming
The “jargon.”
The confusion.
Analysis paralysis.
The scams… my God the scams!!!
But I kept on and I’m thankful that I did! Because now I’m running a business where my entire focus is helping other stay-at-home moms make money online. When there’s so much noise about how to earn an income online, it’s a game changer when you find someone “on the inside” who can genuinely help and answer your questions.

But I’m not going to tell you there’s only “one” way to make money from home. Because that’s a point blank lie!
What I talk about here are real, beginner-friendly ways to make money online as a SAHM… even during the mom cracks of life! 😅
Two Beginner-Friendly Ways Stay-at-Home Moms are Earning Money Online
(Aka: a HUGE umbrella for multiple fun ways to make extra money online).
If you’re a total beginner and have never heard of digital marketing, here’s some things I KNOW you’ve heard of:
Amazon store front
Amazon affiliates
TikTok Shop (don’t lie… you’ve spent too much time & money here!)
What looks like normal, everyday people sharing their favorite amazon must-haves or jeans in their posts & stories–they’re actually earning money with these posts.
These types of posts are associated with affiliate marketing. Here’s how the process works:
You sign up as an affiliate for your favorite products/brands
They send you a unique affiliate link
You share that unique link as you post your favorite products
Someone clicks on that link
They make a purchase
You earn a commission off that purchase
And that happens on repeat.
Digital marketing is also creating and selling digital products. Think PDF’s, eBooks, guides, checklists, how-to’s, video tutorials, etc.
Those things are created (digitally) and then they’re sold on repeat.
A new BIG area of digital marketing that has EXPLODED over the past 6 months or so is UGC. (User generated content.) You’ve seen the videos… people unboxing new products to test, sharing these brands & products in their content.
UGC creators typically sign brand deals with certain companies and they agree to show their products in their content as advertising for the brand. (I know… it’s wild once you understand the concept because it’s content that you see and watch every single day… but never knew they were making money to pay their bills with this stuff!)
Another very lucrative way to make money online as a stay-at-home mom is Freelance Copywriting.
And no… I’m not talking about the kind of writing you did in school. (booorrring…) I’m talking about the book-long text messages you have with your bestie… or the caption you add to your Instagram post of your kids outside playing in the mud.

👉🏼 Businesses don't just need copywriters… they depend on them!
Do most brands have their own marketing teams?... YES… But here’s the thing…
Those marketing teams are mainly there to focus on huge campaigns… advertising… etc.
But it’s also important that they show up in inboxes, social media, and blogs the most they can. And that’s where they need freelance copywriters. I loved copywriting because I chose the brands I worked for. (Or the people, should I say.) I owned my own business so I wasn’t forced to work for someone I didn’t enjoy.
And that’s what so many other SAHM’s enjoy about writing for their favorite brands. You can make money from home while simultaneously setting your own hours, naming your own prices, and partnering with only the people you want to work with.
You don’t need any experience… and you don’t even need a portfolio. (I know! It sounds crazy! But I didn’t have any of these things under my belt and I did the damn thing!)
You Don’t Need to Have Everything Figured Out Right Away
Insert huge sigh of relief here!
I’m going to be painfully blunt here… If you’re looking for a way to get rich quick or overnight success, then yes… you need to figure everything out NOW.
But if you’re looking for a real, legitimate way to make money online as a stay-at-home mom that’s sustainable and that will outlast the hype—take your time.
Do your research. Figure out what makes sense for you.
