Let me take you back pre-pandemic for a quick second. I used to spend so many nights looking for a way to earn money from home so that I could quit my job. The job that had me crying on my husband’s shoulder multiple times a week. The job that had me anxious as all get out whenever I needed to ask for any time off.
But what I was actually doing was looking for a different J-O-B.
You’ve been there… the long scroll of remote data entry jobs. Transcribing. Customer service. Insurance sales. Those types of jobs.
But the real dream was when I’d open up Instagram and see ordinary, everyday mama’s making money from their couch… in their pajamas… while never having to leave the house. And let me tell you—I spent hours scrolling through reels and profile feeds trying to figure out exactly what they were doing. And I could never, ever figure it out. (This was clearly before people started openly talking about what they were doing. Everything was a big secret! 🙄)
So I automatically assumed they had some “special skill.”
They clearly had “it” figured out.
They were experts.
They had huge followings. (Of course.)
But now let’s fast forward to today. If there’s one thing I could tell myself 7 years ago (and you!) It's this: There’s people out there that need help with the things you’re already doing every single day. And the majority of people who are using social media to make money have ZERO degrees.
Let that sink in.
The Stay-at-Home Mom Business Ideas I Was Overlooking
Whenever I started learning Digital Marketing, I went into it thinking “they will teach me what I need to talk about…”
“They’ll give me ideas to sell and inspiration.”
Wrong.
I quickly learned that I didn’t need some revolutionary idea in order to make money as a stay at home mom. And if that sounds a tad too familiar, rest assured that your everyday life already contains dozens of them!
Let me explain… How many people do you follow on social media who are talking about low-tox swaps they’re making in their home? (Hello crunchy mom era!)
Or showing you their favorite Amazon kitchen must-haves?
Or sharing their favorite kid-friendly recipes?
Or taking you along as they do a Sunday reset?
Mama, those are everyday things! And YES—these posts are creating an income!
Using social media has quickly become one of the easiest ways for stay at home moms to make an income without ever sacrificing their time at home or away from their kids. And of course, being the badass women that we are, we’ve turned the chores and mundane activities into a payout—literally!
Everyday Skills That Can Turn Into Digital Products, Content, & Income
This is where us SAHM’s really shine!
Every Sunday, I prep quick and easy snacks for my kids to grab throughout the week. They’re simple, they’re a mixture of healthy and Oreos (we love balance around here!), and they’re perfect for on the go.
Sounds basic, right?
Wrong again.
For almost 2 years, I have been writing different variations of snack foods to pair together in a notebook I keep in a drawer in my kitchen. But just this week, I took those combinations and I turned it into a digital product of 50+ Kid Approved Snack Pack Combos.
I literally took what I was already doing… and something that I had already come up with… put it into a PDF… and started selling it. 🤯
I priced it at $9, which I know, doesn’t seem like much. But with my community of other SAHMs who are also looking for quick snacks (especially now that it’s summer), what if I sold 1 per day? That’s $63 a week…. And an extra $252/month.
But let’s be real. There’s more than 7 mamas out there looking for snacks! What if I sold 3 per day? That’s $189/week and an extra $756/month! And I don’t know about you, but I could think of plenty of things I could do with an extra $756 a month.
And here’s the fun part, mama—what if you sold even more than that? That’s the power of Digital Marketing.
Ways to Make Money From Home With Things You’re Already Doing
What routines do you have every week? This can be literally anything.
Here’s some things to get the gears turning:
Cleaning schedules
Meal prepping
Travel + packing check lists
Content planning (for a business)
Low-tox product swaps
Nightly routines
Morning routines
What is something that you’re really good at? Something that everyone comes to you about?
Are you good at decorating and design? Are you good with home decor? Are you the go-to for planning and orchestrating the weekend girls trip?
Every single thing that you already do can be turned into an online income. Your everyday routines. The mundane things you do day in and day out.
Sometimes it’s as simple as sharing your favorite Amazon finds and getting paid a commission when someone else buys them, too. That’s affiliate marketing.
Even blogging and including affiliate links and other products that you’ve made or put together can easily generate an income for any stay at home mom.
And the beauty of Digital Marketing is that you can make as little or as much as you want. The amount of time you put into it depends solely on what you have to offer.
And don’t think that not showing up equals no payout. We live in an incredible digital age where so many systems can be set up to run in the background 24/7. While you’re sleeping—your business stays running. While you’re at the ball fields all weekend—your business stays running. While you’re soaking up time on a weekend getaway or annual family vaca—your business is still running!
What do I mean by that?
One word—automation.
Have you ever noticed if you comment on an Instagram post asking for more info that you immediately receive a DM from that account? I can assure you they’re not sitting there with phone in hand impatiently waiting for someone to comment that keyword. What they’ve actually done is set up backend automations to respond to DM’s, comments, emails, etc. so that people instantly receive the information they’ve asked for, the business stays running, and that account isn’t glued to their phone all hours of the day.
As simple as it is… there really is a method to the madness! But it’s not as “techy” as you might think—so don’t let that scare you off. And like anything, once you learn it, it’s like riding a bike!
How I Learned to Make Money As a SAHM With Digital Marketing
I’m an OG Legendary Marketer student. And if you don’t know what that is—Legendary was one of the largest online education platforms for Digital Marketing for many years. They eventually closed the doors in 2026 but Legendary wasn’t the only place I learned how to do everything I’m doing now.
In 2024, The Digital Wealth Academy launched its online platform and it has been, by far, one of the best investments I’ve made for my business. If you’ve spent any amount of time scrolling social media trying to figure out how to join the online space, you’ve seen hundreds of different courses being promoted. That was a rabbit hole I went down far too many times I care to admit.
I’ve purchased a handful of digital marketing courses over the years and DWA blew everything else out of the water. It covered everything. From digital products, affiliate marketing, Amazon monetization, YouTube monetization, dropshipping, TikTok Shop, UGC (User Generated Content), blogging, and so much more. It walked me through content creation, setting up those automated systems we talked about, emails, how to use your stories to make sales, how to talk to people in DM’s—literally everything you need to start from scratch and excel in the long run.
And honestly, it was the first time I walked away not wondering what to do next.
Digital Marketing has many different paths to choose from. And despite what other pages might say—there’s not one specific way to do this! It’s all about finding what’s right for YOU and building around the things that matter most—your kids, your schedule, your lifestyle.
